Course was
Challenging due to the inclement weather we have been experiencing. The fairways were coming together as we played and the greens are much better than in the past.

Staff is awesome keep up the hard work

They would play this course again.

I played Willow Run a few days ago on a beautiful day here in Illinois. I was a single and wanted to walk to get some exercise in. I met up with another golfer who was in a cart. Willow Run just purchased all new carts and they are nice. This is an old course. Conditions were ok...definitely not terrible...definitely not close to perfect. All the signs of a small grounds crew were present...down trees/large piles of brush between some of the fairways, etc. The "stuff" to the left of hole one is in a horrible spot (200+ yards out). You go a little left off the tee on your first hole here and you are losing a ball and/or have an unplayable lie. Not the best first impression for Willow Run (of course I went left into the piles of sticks/down trees, etc.). Greens were long and slow. Fairways were good. Rough a bit high. Their website said the round was going to be $16. I guess that was 2018's rates. Rates were bumped up 19% to $19 a round this year...a bit steep in my opinion for this course. You can play it again for I think $5. I wasn't interested as it took a quite a while to get 9 in. Pace of play was slow. This kind of course probably attracts higher handicap golfers and kids. There was a foursome of ladies in front of my group. Overall...I liked playing this course and will be back. The inside check-in area (with the a couple shelves of golf gear behind the cashier) and bar are something out of the 50's. I want to go back and have a beer(s) at this bar as it looks awesome. Wisconsin supper club-ish.

They would play this course again.

Terrible experience at this golf course. I purchased a great deal via Living Social & my husband & I were thrilled to golf. Though we never golfed before, we thought with the Living Social deal, it'll be a great way to start. After arriving to this golf course we checked in with a very pleasurable lady (Rebecca) who gave us great pointers since this were to be our first time golfing. After going out to the course and meeting the starter Art, we were met with rude/offensive instructions. For example, he repeatedly stressed his ability to "kick" us off the course if we did not follow his instructions. After this exchange, I explained I fully understood the rules & that he may continue with any further instructions. As soon as we began to attempt to play, Art continued to come by via his gold cart to "tell" us to move our golf cart & to step aside to let others play, we complied every time. As we began to "attempt" to play again. Art comes by on several occasions notifying us we need to step aside to let others play. We complied again. After this happening on several occasions more than 4. Art comes by one final time and said "we need to leave the golf course" Complexed as to why we were being told to leave I asked "Why, What just happened?" His response, "you're just too slow, you  need to leave now" There were only 2 other groups that were playing at the time we were there. We let the other groups play thru as we were beginner's. Upset, disappointed doesn't begin to describe my husband & I after this shocking exchange.

After returning to the office to share what happened with the originally lady we came in contact with (Rebecca) she says, "she was not to let beginner's play on the golf course", though the Living Social deal doesn't state anywhere, that beginners aren't welcome. Art also knew we were beginners hence, his very offensive instructions to us. Rebecca even went out prior to us making it out on the course to explain to Art that we were headed onto the course & that were first time golfers.

This review is for consumers (Golf Beginner's in particular) to understand that we are not welcomed at Willow Run Golf Course).

This is one of the best 9 hole courses in the Chicago area. The course is mature and tree lined. It offers a good time for all levels of golfers. NIce course to walk or if you need the much appreciated beer holder get a cart. Course is made up of 2 par 3's 6 par 4's and the finishing hole par 5 water on 2 holes. Good place for anyone to brush up there skills or learn and have a good time. Prices are good. Walking early bird rate b4 9am 15.75 with cart 23.25. Twilight rate after 5pm is only 12.25
