Wetherington Golf & Country Club

  1 Reviews

My parents live in the Wetherington neighborhood so I grew up living between two holes of the country club's golf course.  I'm not a golfer but my dad and his buddies have said they are consistently pleased playing the course; members pay nothing but annual ($9500 initial family fee, $450 annually) dues to golf and nonmembers pay $60 per round.  On Mondays the golf course is closed for corporate outings and private events.  The driving range is always open in nice weather and they leave out buckets of balls for guests.

The pool is tiny compared to other area country club's (Beckett Ridge has two Olympic size swimming pools, Wetherington's is not even half the size of one.)  Membership to the pool is included with membership to the golf club; members can bring guests for $5 each.  There is a tennis club at the pool house at well that members can use for free and a snack bar that serves up sandwiches and other light entrees.

The Country Club is pretty in an old-world way.  It's a massive grey building outlined in white and almost see-through due to all the windows.  The club is often used for wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, and other special events and can be rented out completely or by the room.  We used to visit every Sunday for brunch, the club puts out a huge spread of breakfast treats; from delicious Eggs Benedict to an omelet bar to desserts and children's items (chicken fingers are popular with the young ones). The buffet is around $20 for adults, $10 for kids.  The club's dining room is definitely upscale, white tablecloths and real silver and chandeliers.  Go dressed up; almost formal on weekend nights for dinner, less for lunch (still business casual though).  Service is always impeccable.
