We went here to celebrate a birthday and enjoy the Columbus Day holiday.
Very charming location overlooking Pleasant Bay.
We found the staff to be very well trained and accommodating
The food in the main dining room excellent but there was a delay of almost an hour between finishing our appetizers and getting our main courses and the food was lukewarm.
Our other meals we had here were promptly served, however.
Room service was very good, too.
We would definitely return next year as there is so much to do outside here. .
I haven't stayed here, but last week I was renting a house on the Cape and we went to the resort for lunch thinking that we'd go to Thoreau's. Since it was still before Columbus Day, when the bar is open for lunch, we were sent to the Outside Grill for lunch. Dear Mother of God, the food was nothing short of amazing. The lobster roll, while knee shakingly pricey, was a half pound of wonderful lobster. The calamari was exceptional and the tuna sashimi was outstanding.
The staff was very accomodating and the day was absolutely beautiful.
If I win a fairly large lottery prize, I'd be there every week.
I had the pleasure of staying here for five days in October and I had an amazing experience. The food was spectacular, the resort was beautiful, and the staff was top notch. They really did think of everything, from individual Keureg machines in each room to the classy maid service. Even the mini bar was impressively affordable! Though my stay was part of a group event and these accommodations were not my choice, I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a classy stay on the Cape.
We thought we'd check out the resort via a libation at Libayation along with some apps.
The property is gorgeous. Enjoying drinks at the end of a charming cove, is one of the more lovely times I've had here. A shout out for having a well chilled glass of white at an outdoor bar on a hot humid day. It seems to be too much of a feat for most.
What was most remarkable is the intimate feel. CBI down the street is also fancy and beautiful but it seems to be always heaving with people and there's a frenzied vibe. Not so here. Its chill.
I'm sorry to report that the food was "meh" so I didn't give it 5 stars. I had a grilled peach and proscuitto salad and hub ordered tuna sashimi. My peaches tasted like lighter fluid and the ham was gamey. Hub got about a lb. of raw tuna which, oddly, is too much and unappetizing. Plus it was served at room temperature. We call it End of the Season Getting Rid of Food meal.
The place is still exquisite and I'd consider staying here in the future in hopes that the "premier dining" truly is premier.
Worst money I ever spent. Paid a fortune for a room whose balcony was a few steps from the loud, busy employees' parking lot. Instead of relaxing on the balcony I got to watch the deafening chain of giant trucks making deliveries all day and night. And not once, but twice, housekeeping let themselves into our room when the do-not-disturb sign was on our door! Since when is that acceptable?? Restaurant service was slow and several staff members we encountered were incredibly argumentative. When I attempted to complain, the manager belittled, insulted, and yelled at me. For the prices they charge, I would expect so much more. Do not waste your money!!!
