Nestled in the small city of New York Mills, NY, lies a pristine golf course one might miss if driving fast enough down Main Street. The driveway to the club splits holes #17 and #18 and is lined with tall, silver-maple trees offering a "Magnolia Lane" type feel to it. Twin Ponds itself is very scenic and well kept, and notably contains two bodies of water from which the name is derived. The wooded surroundings are consistent and broken up only by occasional homes on the perimeter of course. The fairways are relatively straight and moderate in distance for par. Greens play true, albeit sometimes fast in the heat of the summer. Overall, a great course for novice and skilled players alike.
My experiences have always been positive when having a golf outing or special event - for which they also exceed expectations. The gardens are beautiful and provide an ample location for photo taking. The large ballroom contains a circular bar and panoramic windows offering great views. It's a great atmosphere inside the facility as the open layout makes it easy for guests to mingle. The food never disappoints, although I can't say I've had a great deal of variety from recent memory.
Overall, a great place to spend a day golfing or to forge a lasting memory with family and friends. I consider this club a 'hidden gem' within the greater city of Utica and would highly recommend it.
I had my July 2011 wedding at Twin Ponds Golf & Country Club. I had a great experience working with them, they were flexible and accommodating. The food was good and everything was set up the way I wanted it to on time. The ballroom venue was beautiful and the well manicured gardens were perfect for pictures. I would definitely recommend them!
