This is a beautiful space. I attended an etiquette dinner lead by doors to success hosted by Naba minneapolis. This is the oldest country club in Minnesota and the 2nd oldest golf courses in the country. Food was good. Service was great. The location is also great as it is close to both downtown minneapolis and st paul
So you say you're looking for a country club, but you want it to be in town? Well the Town & Country Club is your answer!
This place is lovely. I went to college nearby and used to go sledding and have other snow shenanigans here in the winter time, so it was interesting to be on the inside this time. If you are looking for old-timey class you will find it here. I am obsessed with chandeliers and this venue has several. The River Room is gorgeous with a beautiful overlook of the Mississippi River and the Minneapolis skyline.
I came here for an event and what do you know but I bumped into the former mayor of St. Paul without even realizing it. I thought that their food was superb with simple high quality ingredients and excellent presentation with an edible flower garnish. Some of the best cheese cake I have ever tasted to boot. At one point during dessert and coffee there was a slight jolt to my table. The cause of this is still a mystery to me because I don't think it was caused by the waitstaff - they were all very attentive. But! For a split second I could have sworn I was in the first class dining room aboard the Titanic and we'd struck an iceberg.
I was invited as part of a meeting group at 5:30. I loved the layout of the room, and the big windows not only made it bright, but scenic as well. I looked out and what I thought was the parking lot was actually the Lake St. bridge traffic. Go the back way if it's rush hour. The chairs were a good height and on wheels. The china was beautiful, as was the nice, heavy silverware. The staff was very efficient and quick to serve you. Filet mignon was served a perfect medium, and tender. Veggies were a bore, no seasoning, but the mashed potatoes were perfect. A creamy light dressing on the salad, was timely. But the piece of cream cake with blueberries in the cake was awesome. A great venue, this was the smaller room. Once I was at the huge room for a wedding. I didn't like the punch they served, but everything else was perfect. If I were to join a country club, this would be it. What better location, than right in the city.
I highly recommend this location as a wedding venue. They did an amazing job with my brother's wedding. They provided space to get ready, flexibility with the weather, and an amazing location. The views and the grounds were just spectacular. The food was good as well!
Great place for a relaxing evening or a round of golf.
