Interesting layout, the greens are not too fast, but are not discouragingly slow. Conditions are ok, Kentucky Blue grass tees and fairways. Not to many bunkers but the ones they do have are maintained well. Be sure to bring bug spray, a few holes are in some deep woods and are very buggy. Most defiantly would go again.
Amazing gem with views! Excellent service, food and charming inn with alot of history. We just stayed here for Americade and had the place to ourselves at their Inn. The room was very well appointed with everything you'd need. At 4:30am, we could see the sun start to come up over Lake George, an experience of its own with all the mountains in the background. When we got up in the morning at 8, a staff member of the Inn brought me a cup of tea up to my room when conversing with her about how my sinuses were bothering me; GREAT attention to detail and genuine care. When we arrived for breakfast in the dining hall, we were greeted again by the same staff member with fresh fruit containing sliced strawberries oranges and bananas, hot croissants and muffins. It was then followed by a hot gourmet breakfast of hot tea, spinach/egg frittatas, crispy bacon and homeade cranberry and nut bread with fresh preserves and butter. There was also fresh grapefruit juice along with water for the table. They also placed us at the front of the dining room looking over the mountain and Lake George. We will be back for certain and telling everyone about this beautiful place!
We stayed at the bed and breakfast located at the golf course in August 2013 and really enjoyed ourselves.
Absolutely beautiful scenery. The view of lake George is spectacular. I thought we were looking at a painting!
The room is fairly clean and has an ambience of your grandma's house (yes a pro!).
The staff is very nice and is willing to help. They answered all of our questions and were very polite.
It's a quiet atmosphere. Not too many people were here during our stay
If you like to golf they will give you a discount $25 discount on your round.
The breakfast is absolutely delicious. We had our choice of eggs. There was also self serve food, tea, coffee, and pastries.
Considering the time we went, the room was reasonably priced. We paid 195 each night plus 11% tax. So include that in your calculations.
There is a nice seating area where you can relax in the evening.
The restaurant has a farm outback. They use the produce in their dishes.
My girlfriend yelled for me to come kill a bug (a spider and mosquitos) at least five times. I didn't mind. But if you don't like bugs in your room then this is not a place for you.
The bed squeaked and hit the wall.
The hotel is about a 10-15 minute drive from town and the road to the hotel is not lit at all. I'm sure this is not really a con but be careful driving at night.
Cell phone reception is not very good but the hotel has wifi, so ask the front desk (bartender).
The bathroom sink is right in front of the toilet. So when you have to face it while you contemplate how to take over the world. Very distracting.
Nice views but course is awful. Getting a beer is hard work. Don't bother.
The 10th hole is the most amazing view you will ever have on a hole of golf!!! It is more on the laid back side of courses. But it is a pretty course & usually very well taken care of. Great round of golf for the $. It is on the mountain over looking Lake George. If you are in the area & don't want to spend crazy $ to play at the sagamore(which is gorgeous) check out top of the world.
