My husband and I had our wedding at The Republic Golf Club a few weeks ago. It was PHENOMENAL! Everything was absolutely, positively PERFECT! I didn't think having a perfect wedding (and I mean PERFECT) was possible, but with The Republic Golf Club and Chris Jimenez (coordinator/food & beverage manager) it is 100% possible. The food is delicious, the set-up is great, and the staff is wonderful! Have your wedding (or other event) here and forget about worries and hassle that weddings typically cause. Thank you so much, Chris. You're AMAZING!
Played 5 courses in 4 days when i was in SA and this was probably the best value for my money. Id say this course is undervalued, but considering the distance from SA i get it.
Course - easy layout, pretty, and in amazing condition. Its pretty wide open so you can really let loose with your driver, though that doesnt mean you should. quite a few hazards and traps that can eat you up.
Staff - very very nice. always trying to help. solid prices on beverages and snacks. One of the best proshops around.
if you have the time get down there and play The Republic, you will not regret it.
Just had our wedding here and we must say the attention to detail that Chris and his staff put forth was nothing less than spectacular. Coming from someone who plans menus and caterings daily the food was great and delicious. Throughout the night we had family and friends complimenting us on the food and intimacy of the venue. Thanks again for making our wedding perfect.
In my opinion, this is the best value in all of San Antonio. It is maintained like that of a $80 green fee caliber or private course. But amazingly, twilight is only around 25 bucks or so. The real reason why I'm not giving The Republic 5 stars is because of how long the drive is to South San Antonio. I mean, I don't want to offend anyone but why would anyone go down there? For me, it's to play golf and to pick up my car at the impound (we've all had those drunken nights). The course is fairly easy, so playing from the tips (7000 yards) is pretty enjoyable due to it being pretty wide open. Because South Texas get's no rain during the summer months, the water hazards are basically non-existent so you can tee it high and let it fly, John Daly style.
This was the first time I played this course and I was thoroughly impressed from top to bottom. The staff was friendly and professional. The course was in immaculate shape. The greens were perfectly manicured and proved to be some challenging putting. It's pricey if you wanna play early but the super twilight after 5 pm is only 29 bucks. You could knock out 18 before it gets dark if your playing doubles. Other than the price my only other qualm was the distance. The Republic rocks! You won't be disappointed!
