It is still amazing to me the transformation from what The Eagles was a few years ago to what The Eagles is now.
I had given up playing any golf here, even for a last-minute recreational round because of the horrible overall condition of the property.
Now, The Eagles is a quality 36 hole experience and I'm out there about once a month.
Tee boxes are well-maintained, fairway shots produce fairway quality lies, bunkers are raked with plenty of sand and the greens are well above average.
The Forest is clearly the better of the two layouts, although errant drives will have more landing room on The Lakes.
While carts have no GPS, they run efficiently and always include four bottles of water in a cooler filled with ice.
Just beware of a rather large alligator that hangs out in the lake between #3 and #8 on The Forest and be courteous to all the deer that roam that back nine.
Friendly staff and nice greens. Cheap beer so that's a plus, and you'll see a buccaneers player every once in awhile. I am in a golf league here and love coming every week.
