I golfed Sturgeon twice this year in June and I was impressed with the ground keeping for how early in the season it was. There were a few greens that were just recently airated so it was bumpy and impossible to read but otherwise I was happy with the course.
I like that they don't force you to use a cart like so many other bigger course in Edmonton. I prefer walking a course to get to know it and get some exercise to burn off the beers that we get on the back 9.
The course backs onto a marsh so its quite quiet. The back nine is very different then the front which makes it challenging and enjoyable. I would play it again for the reasonable price of $50/round.
A great club, renovations to the fairways have made the front 9 very nice to play, a few sand traps, the right amount of water and an attentive beer cart = a lovely afternoon. Next time - hope to try the back 9.
