Played the course probably 6 years ago and thought to try it again.  Remember it being a nice course. Played south course and conditions are poor.  Fairways, greens, bunkers need work as clearly they have not been given the attention needed.  Much better options in the area.

The greens on both courses are in nice shape - the most important thing to me (and most golfers).  Several fairways are torn up and the bunkers feature as much gravel as they do sand.

At full price, it's a bad deal.  They offer twilight rates starting at 2:30, which make playing either course a fair deal.

Beware the Wednesday afternoon leagues.  They take 3 hours to play 9 holes.

Poorly maintained. Water coolers smell like eggs, I wouldn't recommend drinking out of them. It used to be a beautiful course, it is a true shame it has become what it is today.

I used to play at this course often, but haven't been there for a couple of years. There are 2 courses, North and South. In days gone by the North course was considered one of the premier public courses in the Boston area. I returned for a round there recently, played 18 on the North course.

Pace of play was fine, but the course is in dire need of some TLC. Most fairways are patched with many bare spots and crab grass. Several greens had bare dirt spots and many tee boxes were 50% dirt. The prime time rates are not cheap and I would expect better given the cost. Probably the worst course conditions I've seen this season in Massachusetts. It's unfortunate because overall the facility is very good and also hosts one of the better golf schools in the area. However there are many other options for the price.

Stowe Acres is a mediocre course at best, however, apparently they don't do well with lost and found.

Left a rain coat at the course, called them that afternoon and they found my jacket put my name and number on it. Since I live in the city I let them know I would be out there in the next few weeks, but wouldn't be right away. They said no problem as they don't "toss" stuff that has a name on it. Called 3-4 weeks later after I found some time to head back out to stowe, however now the coat is gone. They still say that they don't "toss" stuff with people's name on it. However, I imagine someone from the pro shop probably has a new rain coat...

Do not recommend.
