I looked forward to playing here because of the reviews. Greens, fairways, tees all in good shape. The people were extremely friendly. End of positive part of the review.

Slow, unregulated play. Slowest I've experienced in years and no one was trying to move people along, possibly because the only people I saw running the course were under 20 years old. At one tee, we were one of 4 groups parked asset the tee.

It's a tough course which is fine but with hidden landing zones. Knowing the course is pivotal. A number of times I was guessing what's on the other side of this hill, around this turn, the radius of the turn, and guessed wrong.

Bring lots of water because there are practically no igloo coolers on the course. There is one at the tenth hole, right after you pass the clubhouse on the turn and have gotten drinks. Poor choice of cooler location if they're going to have only one.

I bailed after hole 10 because of the pace of play. I doubt I'll be back unless I see a hot deal and am in a good mood. Won't be paying $72 again though

He would not play this course again.

Stonewall is a fantastic course - it's always been in great condition, it's a scenic location, and the views & layout is wonderful...but for $120, they need marshals and to ENFORCE pace of play rules - 5+ hours and a "well, it's Sunday afternoon and it's slow" is a total BS excuse to give to patrons - so, from a course & challenge standpoint it's great, but be prepared for a long slow slog, unfortunately, which takes away from what would otherwise be a positive experience

Stonewall is a challenging layout with water and sand hazards. Slope ratings are pretty high (137 for the white tees which were around 6,300 yards). Some holes required long shots over water or ravine type hazards, so it's best suited for lower handicapped players. Pace of play can be an issue, but we got around in 4.5 hours (no rangers). Conditions were generally good. Fairways were nice and the roughs were thick. Greens were nice and reasonably quick, although there were many not-repaired ball marks. The sand traps need more sand.

Played Stonewall for the first time today and was very impressed. Ive played majority of the northern VA public/private courses and this is definitely top 3. Course conditions were incredible for the last day of Feburary. Greens couldn't have been any better. Very firm and fast. Cant wait to see what this place is like peak season! The Cannon grill is a great place to grab food during/after the round. I will definitely be back!

He would play this course again.
