My husband and I were married at Spring Valley Country Club on June 14, 2014 and had an unbelievable experience working with the club from start to finish.
The event manager, Kate, is knowledgeable, professional and extremely detail oriented. She was efficient in answering her emails, responding to all our questions and had meticulous notes on our likes, dislikes and our vision for the big day. She gave us sound advice, accommodated all of our needs and made us feel comfortable turning the whole event over to their extremely competent staff.
Marissa, our day of coordinator, was exceptional. She made sure that my husband and I were informed about everything going on ( i.e. how much time we had before food was served, time left before cake cutting, etc) and had everything we needed (she honestly magically appeared any time our we needed a fresh drink with a new one in hand without us having to ask)! At one point during the evening she even helped to rebustle my dress when it was stepped on. Marissa's calm and even demeanor made her the perfect person to have by your side on your wedding day - she was calm and relaxed, making you calm and relaxed!
The event itself was nothing less than perfect - from the picturesque golf course (I got awesome sunset pictures) to the amazing food (people are still talking about the flatbread bar) to the hospitable staff - I couldn't have asked for anything more. The venue itself has lots to offer - the outside patio overlooking the course was perfect for the guests who didn't want to be inside with our live band all night and the inside cocktail area would have been big enough to accommodate an entire cocktail hour (we had 180ppl) if it has rained. . Plus, the full length windows and hard wood give the room tons of character.
My family and I received nothing but compliments on my wedding, My parents and I could not have been any happier with the staff, service and food on my big day. I would highly recommend this venue to any bride-to-be. You will not be disappointed!
Top shelf all the way. We attended a wedding here and it is one of the best venues we've ever experienced for large private functions. Highly recommended AAAAA+++++
This past weekend my daughter and son-in-law got married at Spring Valley. We had a wonderful evening at the venue and all of our guests were so pleased with their experience. We heard from so many people how they admired the opportunity to spread out, go outside, sit by the fire pits, the incredible service from the staff... Will, the event coordinator could not have been more attentive, supportive, or kind. Joann, the manager, knows her business well and worked with us to be sure that we were doing well. There were small additions included, that I thought were very helpful - such as they offered the wine for the wedding service, had a box for gift cards if we needed it, stands for the table cards. These were all nice touches. They were familiar with several of the vendors we used which made the evening very easy. I would not hesitate to recommend Spring Valley for an event.
A few months ago I played at a golf outing at Spring Valley in Sharon Mass.
I was blown away by how friendly the staff was and how amazing the food was. Truthfully better then most meals I eat in Boston.
The pro came up to me on the range and offered some very helpful hints as to my follow through and weight distribution, which right away straightened a slice I was having with my drive. This type of pro attention to a guest is unheard of at any other club I have played at in the area.
I guess they recently re did their entire course and the greens were fast and rolled true and accurate. The course was long enough for me playing from the mid tee's (blues ) and still long enough for the single digit handicaps in my foursome playing from the tips.
The pool which I did not go into was very active and great fun for the family with lots of children playing. Loads of life guard supervision, plus the benefit of eating around the pool area at a poolside cafe.
There was none of the pretension that I often feel when playing a private golf course, in fact quite the opposite, from the members on site to the staff, they made all of us feel welcome, like we had been members for years.
I just called about membership for my family as we are thinking of becoming members in the spring and could not believe the level of professionalism. The membership director was amazing with no pressure but answered all my questions and some I had not even thought of.
I was impressed with the new member mentor program, connecting me right away to a current member to make sure I have a group to play with right off. I was even invited to an upcoming members dinner event to give us the " complete Spring Valley experience"
Now I just can't wait for spring!
I had the pleasure of attending my brother's wedding here, and had a great time with great food. Our attendant, Will, was pleasant and kept us fed, hydrated, and in good spirits throughout our arrival, photo session, etc. The dinner was delicious and the place is beautiful. The option to sit outside on a nice evening was great as well. The venue and grounds are beautiful and the salads and entrees fantastic.
Here's the one issue I had: They shut off the bar without telling a soul, just suddenly put up "bar closed" sign without so much as an announcement. The only reason I got a final drink is because Will told me they were shutting down the bar. I found it unprofessional and insulting that they would just stop serving drinks without so much as a "bar is closing" announcement. It didn't help that the bartenders weren't exactly nice about it either, but I'm sure the shut down order came from higher up the food chain.
It only takes one major screw-up to put a damper on a perfect evening.
