Played this course on Monday August 4, 2014. Friendly staff, excellent lunch in the clubhouse. The fairways were in terrific shape and the greens were good speed, the ball rolled well on them and they were well maintained. The layout is a bit strange - under 300 yard par 4s and one par three where my playing partners hit driver. I would not recommend this course for a high handicapper. You need to consistently put the ball on the fairway here. The rough isn't wide and since the course is hilly, it often falls off to areas where it is difficult to find your ball. I normally shoot in the mid 90's. I was frustrated midway thru the back nine. Granted, this was the first time I had played here, but too often I couldn't find my ball. I am all for risk/reward on the golf course. But the layout too often punishes shots that should be playable. If you are a high handicapper, stock up on balls before you arrive. This is a VERY challenging course. I would think low handicappers, who can work the ball, would find this place interesting.
Played for first time on a Monday.
$47 with cart for seniors weekdays
Not crowded. Teed off 20 mins early and finished in 4.5 hours.
Front 9 has more character than back.
Green tees combined with white on many holes making for a very short course.
Too many holes were driver, 9 iron, putter
Many distances were much shorter than shown on card
This used to be one of our favorite courses, but it's now out of the rotation. Played here this past weekend and the course was in rough shape. Standing water in some places and other spots brown and dry. Tons of unfixed divots. Bunkers have very little sand. The patio was closed for a private function so no food or drink post round.
Excellent mountain target track. Well maintained but bunkers could use a little work. Sparse pro-shop but everything you need. Facilities are clean and nice. Relative fast play and great food/beverage service including cart and outdoor service at turn. Could use better practice facilities
Yes the weekends can be slow, afternoons specifically, but it's mostly due to folks playing off blue or gold tees, when they'd be better off on the white.
It is a tough course and can be long for a lot of men. As a female golfer, I find it refreshingly challenging compared to some others, while still keeping a fair and level playing field against the men.
Beautiful scenery, fantastic food and great patio for relaxing before or after your round. It's a little different than a lot of courses around, but that adds to its appeal.
