Anything less than a 5 is unreasonable. This place is first class and the surroundings are beautiful. Just don't hit a house.
While the course was pretty it did not wow me. And how do you hold a tournament with thousands of people then have one of your signature holes filled with construction dumpsters? There was no place to see and bordered on dangerous since we were staring down at the hole from above--very crowded. Why couldn't it have been moved for the event? I only saw the back 9 and wasn't moved, perhaps the front 9 was better. Security was tight to keep the riff-raff out of the club so it's impossible to tell how nice it was. The man I dealt with briefly in the gift shop was very nice. Food and drink prices were reasonable but suspect this was a product of the tournament, not the club itself.
I am a visitor doing charity work today at the Sherwood Country Club and watching the pro golfers .
This is my second visit hear and I enjoy the club very much.
To sum it up this place is TOTALLY Awesome!
If I could give it 10 stars, I would! Our wedding was August 25th at Sherwood. It is the most glamorous, beautiful venue. Heather, the catering manager, not only fielded all our questions, she anticipated everything we needed; made excellent recommendations to make our special moments the most magical and glamorous possible. Truly better than any Four Seasons, Montage, or any other venue. As my friend/guest said, "she felt this is where gatsby wished he lived!" We hold onto the best memories of our dreamy day as King and Queen in our magical palace and hope to make it back there for other occasions. Super special! Congratulations to you, btw.
The grounds here are beautiful. You drive in through a set of huge gold gates to enter the club. Everything is perfectly green and freshly cut. The views are very picturesque and make for a wonderful backdrop. The building where the events are held looks very grand and elegant. This all made for a great time at a friends wedding.
Cocktail hour was held outside, unfortunately in the shade, it was starting to get very cold around 6pm. Would suggest others do it inside or in the sun, if they can.
The banquet hall was beautiful, with huge chandeliers and stunning views from the large windows. Only thing I would have done differently would have been to dim the lights a bit. It was so bright inside I think it kept people a little timid from the dance floor. Also, the shape of the banquet hall is narrow. I didn't see it as a problem but others might.
Not sure if the food came from an outside catering company or from the club but it was AMAZING! The food alone gets 5 stars. I had the sea-bass and it was mouthwatering buttery goodness. I want it again, now!
Staff was very attentive and helpful, although again, I'm not sure if that was outside staff or the club's.
Overall it's a great venue for the area. Would def come back here for another wedding or event and have a great time :)
