Very comfortable casual elegance in the country club restaurant. Hospitable service and delicious food. I got the macadamia encrusted halibut and sweetie got a mixed greens garden salad with grilled shrimp. Delicious. Great view and reasonably priced.
Went to the restaurant with 5 people on a Saturday night night. What a lovely place. For appetizers we had crab cake, french onion soup, and salads. We had prime rib, halibut, and rack of lamb. Was amazed at the quality and quantity of every single dish we had. The room was beautiful, the service excellent, and we were able to sit and eat and visit for a couple of hours. What a wonderful find in Arnold CA.
What a surprise...an excellent dinner in Arnold! Stopped in for a Monday evening dinner recently...wasn't quite sure what to expect as small mountain towns are sometimes void of good food. I had the wild salmon - it was amazing! One of the best plates of salmon I've ever had - cooked perfectly, presented beautifully and delicious. Our waitress Coral was so sweet - friendly, personable, cute and efficient. Not sure when I'll be back in the area, but would definitely return.
Well I'm not rating the food, just the service or lack thereof. We've tried to eat dinner here twice now and have had a similar experience both times. I'm unsure if it's from a lack of service perspective, that we're not a member of their club, or just incompetence.
Anyway, the last time we made reservations we made them for 6:15 pm on a Friday evening. We arrived five minutes early at 6;10 and the restaurant only had a handful of patrons. We were greeted by the Hostess and again asked "if we were members." Then she stated that "her 6:00 reservation had not arrived yet and we'd have to wait for them so if we could please sit in the bar." We went into the bar area and sat at a table and waited for the server. There were two women working behind the bar and were very attentive to everyone who walked through the door and the other people who had already been served , but continued to ignore us. The perception we were left with was that if you weren't a local, member of their club or someone they knew then you were ignored. It's strange, but if we were to place our own order at the bar one would think that either of the people working behind the bar would have mentioned it or there would have been a sign indicating so. We remained in the bar for another 20 minutes and never got a drink order taken or saw the Hostess again.
We decided to leave believing that no restaurant was worth this level of insult. However, my Wife couldn't understand the logic from the Hostess to make us wait for another party that didn't bother to arrive on time so she went to question the Hostess. Her reply was that "she was just coming to get us and she didn't serve us because she was one server short and she couldn't double seat us as the waitstaff would be overcome." So didn't she have an open table from the 6pm reservation that didn't show and why make us wait another 20 minutes past our reservation?
In closing we've had enough of the incompetence at Sequoia Woods Country Club and will not recommend it or attempt a dinner there again.
