I've played over 50 rounds here but gave it up because the waiting became so cumbersome. I'm a pace of play guy and if it gets over 4.5 hours, i'm out. It was taking right at 5 hours when i played at 2pm. Twighlight would jam up the course so I came back out and paid the extra to play at 1:30. It worked. My wife and i ran into 2 groups and played in less than 4 hours (as it should be).

Only downside is had to pay a little more and the bunkers are hard packed sand for the most part. Greens are in good condition and the track is fair.

He would play this course again.

My favorite public course in the Plano/Frisco area, Ridgeview Ranch is a terrific and fun set up for the average golfer.

Most holes do not require a particularly accurate tee shot. This makes the game more fun since you still have a shot to the green even after spraying it a little off the tee on most holes. You can 'tee it high and let it fly' with very few exceptions (#4, #11, #14, #15).

There are a few very challenging holes (#3, #9, #11, #15) in terms of distance and design, however, there are also some holes that allow even the average golfer a very good chance to score well (#6, #10, #13).

Par 5s are evenly designed. #6 and #10 are reachable in 2 while #2 and #16 generally play as 3 shot holes.

Par 3s have some variety while being on the easier side. #5 and #7 are short irons that require a carry over waste areas. #12 is a mid-long iron and #17 involves a downhill shot using a mid-short iron.

Greens are consistently in good shape and can be very fast in peak weather. Grassy areas are well maintained. Bunkers are the only disappointment, but, it they are improving this as of late.

Practice area includes a short game area with practice bunker and chipping green. Putting green is huge. Driving range is adequate and is usually busy.

Excellent teaching staff at Ridgeview led by Bruce Sims, especially for young golfers. There is a busy youth golf program there.

Nice layout in good shape. Good price and value for this course. Food bar area staff was not on par with the course at all. But overall I will play there again and just bypass the food area. Maybe it wasn’t there day.

I had a tee time for 2:08pm. When I got to the course, they bumped me to 2:30pm due to a tournament. I asked if I could tee off prior, but they said the tournament was going to head out and I had to wait.

Getting stuck behind a slow moving tournament was bad enough, but having to wait 5-minutes in between shots was extremely annoying. The round took me 6-hours to complete.

COURSE CONDITIONS:
Fairway: Some bare spots on the fairway.

Bunkers: Very wed. Recent rain fall the week before. My ball found a bunker once during the round and I had to dig the ball out a a muddy puddle.

Greens: Bumpy due to recent aerification.

Layout: A few narrow fairways. Not a memorable of a golf course.
