Played Golf here yesterday I was really surprised how great of shape the greens and fairways were :-) I love playing here you can walk the course and it moves at a good pace. This course is in the best shape I'v seen it in a couple of years. Shirley and the staff are doing an excellent job. Since the watering problem been fixed I'll be back soon! I love this little oasis in the desert.
Well it's a golf course in the middle of the desert what can you really expect. I have always had good times here with my golfing buddies and you can usually blow threw a round in 3 hours. Last time the mens group teed off an hour after we did and we got stuck behind some real 'PROS' that took for ever on the greens. Still all around a good little place to come get a round of golf in.
Obviously the past reviews were just that,,,,THE PAST!
Now for the PRESENT: A dusty, dried out course that has not been cared for
whatsoever. Don't even provide drinking water (Conveniently placed Water Containers: Empty) They should close this course for renovations. Period. Don't waste your money, spend a few more dollars and go to Rancho Vista in Palmdale.
Close this place!
Great course for high handicaps. Good prices on range balls and for walking. I'm a beginner so this course offers me everything I'm looking for in a course. There are little-to-no elevation changes on this course and only a few dog leg holes. The water only comes into play if you have a tendency to slice the ball.
I've heard that the greens are much better than they were in the past. They are currently in the process of cleaning up the waterways too.
Great little course hidden way out in the desert... which just happens to be extremely convenient for twilight play after work. I am not a pro by any stretch... in fact, I can probably count very quickly how many times I've used my clubs - but I do know what I like and I like Rancho Sierra. My husband and I try to get in 9 holes from time to time... its a bonding experience. We've never had to wait, we've never been rushed along... and the times we've gone have been odd enough that the course is nowhere near busy. That makes me extremely happy when I don't feel pressured to take my shot. I struggle enough trying to hit the ball... but to swing and miss or swing and take a big chunk of dirt while on display in front of four well versed golfing gentlemen - not cool. The prices cannot be beat. The course is very clean, lots of trees and wildlife. And the folks in the clubhouse are always super kind. And they serve Mojave Red and Mojave Gold! Score!! For the southeast Kern folks and anyone in the AV... this is a fabulous little spot to get in some practice, play a round, and go at your own pace. Totally recommend!
