Prestonwood Country Club

I came here for a midday wedding reception and it was generally what I expected. The interior was welcoming and elegant. Although we kind of caught the lady at coat check in the middle of something (House of Cards, maybe?) on Netflix, she was polite and eventually attentive. Hors d'oeuvres were pretty good, with the highlight being the sausage-stuffed mushrooms. Sweet tea was in abundance and I guess when in Rome...

The reception was a buffet lunch, which has its benefits. You don't have to commit to a certain entree and can get whatever you like. The proteins provided were all rather good. The chicken florentine was surprisingly good, as I usually expect rubber chicken at venues like this, but it actually was tender and flavorful. The mustard salmon was good, but the flank steak was the best of the three proteins. The steak was medium, and even though I like medium rare more, this was still tender and delicious. The salad components were fresh plentiful.

Service was excellent, with the wait staff being attentive and polite. It rained all day that wedding day, and I thought the reception room could have used more lighting. Overall, I would recommend the venue for an event.

I could not have chosen a better venue. I spoke with Joey from the very beginning and he was a GOD SEND! Joey is the MAN! He was like my wedding planner. I had a day of coordinator but it was Joey who really helped guide me thru. He was so responsive to my emails and calls all the way to the end. I had the pleasure of visiting Prestonwood while they were setting up for a wedding and I knew right away that I wanted to have my wedding there. I had 113 guests and due to the smaller than normal crowd we had to get married on a Friday. The food and beverage minimum is less on a Friday. That actually worked out better than I expected. Friday weddings' allows room for negotiation with outside vendors and minimizes your guest list.

Prestonwood staff is AMAZING and the food is 5 star! We had our rehearsal dinner at Prestonwood, as well. We had a really hard time choosing a rehearsal dinner location and thankfully Joey suggested their buffet. OH MY...the food was so good! Our wedding party is still talking about the dessert bar from the rehearsal dinner and the stuffed sausage mushrooms from the cocktail hour.

I keep saying my wedding was the best day of my life. We had so many people tell us, it was the best wedding they have attended. Prestonwood is beautiful own its own, but it is the staff that really makes the experience memorable. I actually was referred to Prestonwood by another bride. I was told the staff will take care of you and the food/cake is phenomenal. That was 100% the TRUTH!

Speaking as a member of Prestonwood I love having access to this place, and myself and my family utilize it quite a bit.  I had never been a member of a Country Club before and admittedly I always thought it was something older Southern folks joined to socialize.  Well, perhaps that's how CC's started out, but certainly Prestonwood does a great job making all ages welcome and happy.

Consider as a member w/ a family having access to all of this:

- Great camps and programs for kids throughout the year
- Friday & Saturday "Date Nights" for parents
- Great food at the Red Fox Pub/Restaurant
- Full Sunday Brunches and Thursday night family night dinners
- Special event menu's and meals for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Octoberfest, Wine & Beer events, father/daughter and mother/son balls, etc.
- Full Aquatics and Fitness center with classes
- Special events included like the Senior PGA tournament in the Fall for golf or Fall festival for the kids and rides.
- Use of their facilities for special functions e.g. weddings

And that's just for the entry level social membership.  The levels above that are if you're interested in the Tennis membership and the top level Golf membership.

I started out as a social member and upgraded to the golf membership as I couldn't stand practically living next door to a golf course and not being able to go play!  There are three different courses at Prestonwood; the Fairways, the Meadows and the Highlands.  All three have had recent renovations and are all expertly kept up.  I'm very much so an amateur golfer and I appreciate the Fairways course quite a bit, which is also setup for jr. golfers.  The Highlands is probably the prettiest and has the signature island hole on 17.  The Meadows though is pretty dang tough if you're up for a challenge.  The club regularly schedules all kinds of tournaments you can sign up for all Spring/Summer/Fall.  And they have a great grass practice range and a state of the art golf learning facility as well.

Even with all of that my favorite times here are spending summers by the poolside with the family.   Even though our subdivision has a great pool that is certainly easier to get to it's a lot of fun over at Prestonwood.  They have a fun slide and diving boards for the kids, a great large shallow pool for the tots or if you want to get away a great lap pool for adults only.  But really, summers are about kicking back in a lounge chair and ordering a cold beer on tap or a margarita.  There are great summer kickoff and summer ending parties at the pool as well.

I've been very pleased with Prestonwood since we joined several years ago and if you're a Cary-ite or close by and enjoy the social, tennis and/or golf then I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Recently had my baby shower here a few months ago and they were great. Easy to contact and to schedule events. We were able to get into the private room the day before to decorate.  We had an issue where we weren't going to know exact number of people attending, due to a sick family member, til the day before and they were easy to accommodate change at the last minute

We had my shower on a Sunday so we could take full use of the Sunday Brunch. It was delicious. Everyone was able to find something they loved. The service we received was top notch. They really have everything you could want during the Sunday brunch...breakfast, sushi, salad, fruit, dessert, pork, chicken, all the will not leave hungry.

They even let us pack up a plate for my sick mother in law who wasn't able to be there - but luckily Preston had wifi so she was able to skype for the whole thing (which meant SO much to her)

Everything was taken care of! Which is nice to not have to set up or clean up!

Honestly we had such a great time here - we tried to book it for my daughters Baptism...but sadly they don't have the buffet on Saturday's or do small events like that either because of Wedding on Saturdays :(

I will try to have all my special events on Sundays now just so we can celebrate here.

I had my wedding here last May and it was the perfect location! The club house is stunning as well as the grounds. The staff was extremely helpful in the planning process, the weeks up until my wedding date and on the day of. Everything turned out beautifully! One of the best parts was the food! Planning the meal and appetizers was so much fun with the chef! We got TONS of comments on how good the food was!!! The lamb appetizers were a huge hit! No limit on the amount of apps either. They will keep making more if your guest want more. The bathroom was very large and had a sitting area, so it was great for getting ready. I highly recommend this venue!!!! My wedding was stunning!!!
