I love this course! Very well maintained greens, bunkers, fairways, tee boxes, everything. Fast electric carts with ball and club scrubbers. Super nice and humble staff. The views of the surrounding landscape are amazing. Not a super long course but each hole has its own unique twist, and some of the longest par threes I've played. Price is very reasonable 20-40. Course truly is a gem, and the fact it was built by one small family is remarkable. So show some respect and give this gorgeous golf course a try!
Truly a hidden gem, this quirky course traverses hilly terrain in PA's fruit belt. It's an old orchard, and active orchards border some fairways. The facilities are modest, but immaculate. We'll maintained carts are electric with ball and club washers as well as divot repair materials. Yesterday we found the course pleasantly crowded and in perfect condition. For some reason, I often shoot a good round here. Maybe it's because one has to focus on choosing the right club due to all the elevation changes. Three sets of tees: Blue (men's 66.6/111), White (men's 64.6/109), Black (men's 61.4/101 or ladies 64.3/105). If the bunkers had soft sand in them, I'd give this gem 5 stars.
Tee Time Golf Pass Users Beware:
Piney Apple advertises the following "deal" in the book.
"One free play with one paid M-Th after 10am; Fri, weekends and holidays after 1pm. Unlimited. Offer based on regular rates only. Cash only."
I went there today (Sunday), after 1:00 with the expectation of getting a free round with one paid. I presented my book, they initialed it and charged me $23. My friend, who was my paid partner to get the deal, does not have tee time book. He was charged $25. Upon questioning, I was told $23 is the manadatory cart fee on the weekend (meaning greens fees are only $2?).
This is at best false advertisement, and bordering on lying. This was not a "free play with one paid"
Although I enjoyed my round today, I will never be returning and can not recommend this course due to this deceptive advertising, and outright lies.
I have contacted the course and TeeTime Golf Pass to make sure this deal is honored appropriately, and will update this review if/when I hear back from them.
If anyone planned on using the Tee Time Golf Pass book and you have changed your mind based on my review, please mark this review as helpful. I want them to know the customers they've lost due to their dishonest advertising.
*UPDATE: I have received an explanation from the course. Long story short, after some voodoo math they arrive at a cost of $23 each for you and your partner. Nowhere close to the "free play with one paid" that they advertise.
Friendly service and a great value. The course is rolling deep in the heart of orchard country, but is not overpowering and can be played with enjoyment by experienced and novice Golfers. The course is well maintained with some great views.
