Northville Hills Golf Course was designed by Arnold Palmer and is currently regarded as one of the top 50 public golf courses in Michigan. It lives up to that billing.
The course is stunningly beautiful and immaculately maintained. You can tell a lot of work went into sculpting each hole. I can only describe it as thoughtful, creative, and unique. Heck, even the time I spent in the sand was lovely. You'll have to pick each shot carefully as the rolling terrain, marshland, and generous bunkers can quickly get you into trouble. The course forced me to use every club in my bag at least once. It was exciting and challenging.
The greens are pro level fast but roll true. They were also surprisingly hard. Several times I looked in vain to find the divot from my approach shot.
Pace of play was decent. We caught up to the group in front of us and had to wait occasionally, but we didn't mind.
There was no drink cart when we were out, but at the turn they offered to pack us a cooler of beers if we liked.
It was a pleasure and I'd love to play here as much as possible.
