Northfield Golf Club

Located in the sleepy town of Northfield Mass, this 9 hole golf course was a pleasant surprise.  I called the day before for a tee time and they just told me to come on out whenever because they " didn't have anything going on that day."  So we arrived around noon and had no wait.

The clubhouse was a small unassuming building with (surprise) nice locker rooms for use.  The pro shop had all the standard items such as clubs, balls, and other golf paraphanelia for sale.  The price for two of us for a round with a cart was 46 dollars, not bad at all.

The course was well kept and had a few challenging holes, at least for this newbie to the sport.  The greens were consistent throughout and the fairways were wide and rolling.  Did I mention I hardly saw anybody else out on the course?  No one hurrying us along.  The closest group were three holes behind us.  That's nice on a sunny saturday afternoon.

It's too far out of the way to go for just the day, but if I'm ever in the area, I'll definitely be back.
