I used Mountain Gate to host my son's Bar Mitzvah party and couldn't have been happier with the results.  The staff was extraordinarily helpful -- definitely went the extra mile to ensure the event was memorable.  The setting was spectacular and the guests raved.   Plan on going back for my daughter's celebration.

PERFECT VENUE. My wife and I got married at Mountaingate in April. We worked with Bridget, who helped us every step of the way. Bridget and the MG staff couldn't have been more accommodating to my wife and me, to our families, to our vendors, and to our guests.

We had cocktails on the putting green, the ceremony outside underneath those two giant trees and then we tented the outdoor area for the reception. Bridget took the lead with the tent vendor and managed to get everything set up exactly the way my wife wanted without any issues - which is no easy feat!

In the end, we were extremely happy with the way our wedding turned out and we are very comfortable recommending Mountaingate to any potential bride and groom.

Some Perks:

-The grounds are beautiful enough for even an amateur photographer to take great pictures.

-The food is among the best you'll find at any venue. It was timely served and cleared. We offered a salmon dish, chicken dish and veggie dish. All very good.

-Flexible, a la carte pricing. You're not locked into any packages if you prefer. No hidden charges, which was a relief. Even the final bar bill (which I had expected to be astronomical) was totally reasonable.

-Plenty of outdoor power sources for your vendors, which means you're not stuck with any particular layout. You can spread things out as much as you like. We had a DJ, photobooth, and coffee cart all set up outside at the same time in different areas under the tent.

I had my wedding reception here and, at first, everything was wonderful. The tasting went great, the wedding coordinator was professional and responsive and the prices were reasonable. The day of the wedding, however, it was a different story. The moment we paid the balance things started to go south. For one, the wedding coordinator disappeared.
Then, we had trouble getting the bar opened early even though our guests were willing to pay. When the food came out we were disappointed in the taste and portion sizes; they were inferior compared to the tasting. It got really bad when the bartender started refusing to serve Patron, which we had PAID for and was to be included in the open bar. I talked to the manager in charge. He was never able to get a hold of the wedding coordinator with whom we had the agreement. This fiasco resulted in people being served Patron Coffee liqueur, I found later from my guests, even though the manager told me personally he would take care of it. The last insult came when the bar was closed at 10:30PM. We had agreed to keep it open until 12AM. Even though I was insistent, the manager refused to keep it open until the agreed time saying my guests drank more than usual. Afterwards, my wife attempted to get a response from the wedding coordinator about the Patron and we never heard back. I don't know if our experience is unique but we definitely felt swindled. We felt as if once the money exchanged hands our contract was no longer worth honoring.

Our wedding was absolutely amazing, everyone loved Mountaingate & said it was so unique to be able to have a reception that had both an inside and outside area. I researched over a 100 venues online and was surprised to find that most are either all inside or all outside, having both was on our top 10 things that a venue had to have. The Mountaingate Coordinator Bridget was phenomenal & such a pleasure to work with. We booked over 8 months in advance & she was always on top of everything and anyone that met her the day of the wedding was VERY impressed with her & could tell that she took her job very seriously. We received comments from our parents and guests that said it was the most beautiful, fun and well organized wedding they had ever been to & they noted how Bridget seemed to just glide & take care of anything & if there were any issues she took care of it so fast that no one noticed. Everyone also was HIGHLY impressed with the food, the chef was amazing! I have been to other weddings that had filet mignon & it was never prepared well -either under or over cooked, but Chef made the food PERFECT! At the tastings Ben & Bruce were wonderful to work with, they were both so personable & so knowledgeable. Bruce was there the day of the wedding & was both professional and attentive, he made sure everything in the dining area was running smoothly. Even the next day when we picked up the items, Mountaingate staff continued being so wonderful.
