I recently went to a wedding hosted at this club. The location manager in charge is named Peter and he is totally rude. We had two simple requests of him and he replied with snarky, defensive responses that quickly turned into a complaint that too many people were asking for too many things.
The service was slow and people were constantly looking for a server to get more water, wine, bread, sugar, utensils, etc. The food was definitely not up to par either. Finally, they put eight people on 10-person tables; so everyone was sitting quite far from the person next to them which made it nearly impossible to talk to people seated to the left and right.
The guests and the wedding party made up for the mismanagement of the event.
Peter should be parking cars and not managing important events.
I'm a recently joined member and I have to say that I absolutely LOVE it here. The views are fantastic, the food is always on point, and the service is always stellar. I don't play golf (my boyfriend does), but I still look forward to every dinner or function we come to here for and always try and bring my out of town friends here to share our enjoyment of the club with and they always rave about it too. I know my boyfriend LOVES the golf courses too. So much to love about this place, hard to find any fault. If you have the opportunity to join DO IT, you'll be glad you did :-)
Being Club Corp members for many years we have come to the desert frequently and have played the Kraft Tournament course dozens of times and always enjoyed the experience, BUT not this time. We arrived Friday afternoon and drove straight from the Palm Springs airport to Mission Hills for our 1pm tee time on the Kraft Course. We planned it out so we would be able to play the course just before the big LPGA tournament, but didn't expect to experience what was a really bad day. First of all it was "cart path's only"...ok, I get it, we don't want to mess up the fairways for the tv cameras...no problem. But when did it become ok to have groups of 5, or 6 or even 7 on the course? Yes, that's right a 7-some? Supposedly there were groups playing a practice round for the ProAm but that couldn't possibly account for the extremely slow play (2 hours and 50 minutes for 9 holes! We decided it just wasn't worth it and bailed out before the back 9. Sorry Mission Hills Staff, this should NEVER happen at a high quality facility like yours. Suggestion: Spend a few bucks and keep a Marshal on the courses to prevent this from happening in the future. I'm just sayin......
I Love Mission Hills! There is plenty to see and do (if you live here), like; coldwater & solar heated swimming and lap pools, hot tubs, both grass and felt tennis courts, racquetball courts, private and member gyms and trainers, volleyball courts, croquet courts, bad-mitten courts, horseshoe courts, basketball courts, 4-star breakfast and dinner buffetts, different golf courses, ponds & waterfalls, year round blooming gardens and fruit trees, there are golfcart, bike, jogging & walking trails - there are wildlife like geese, ducks, thousands of birds, butterflys, hummingbirds bunnies, and fish. This entire facilty is A+! However, this is not a 'weekend' get away place, as no 'weekend warrior' will ever have the proper time to appreciate all the beauty and activities here - but if you live here and enjoy being physically active like we do, you will never tire - also the HOA is constantly updating, so there is always something new and exciting and all courts are renewed yearly. The only down sides I can think of have to deal with the gardners and their manager - if you want to sleep late, you'll find the sounds of lawnmowers, weedeaters, and yelling in spanish to be a pain in the ass at 8:00am and the woman manager in charge of making sure the gardens are kept up and pool areas are kept clean - has horrible attention to detail and a piss poor attitude.
Tee boxes, fairways and greens are in good shape but the rest of the course is an eyesore. There are no features to speak of - no sagebrush, bushes, rocks and minimal trees. The rough look bad - mottled grass of varying colors and splotchy - somewhat of an eyesore and makes it feel like you are playing on a deserted lot that has tee boxes, fairways and greens dropped in on it.
