I attending a wedding and reception at MacGregor Downs' clubhouse this past weekend. The drive into the country club and up to the clubhouse was very lovely, with stately lake front homes and a well manicured, sprawling golf course complex bordering both sides of the road. There was ample available parking at our destination.
The views from the clubhouse of the surrounding lake made the venue very pretty for a wedding, and the main entry room looked like an old English manor house with dark wood paneling and torch-like candelabras (they need dusting). The staff was professional and friendly.
After the wedding and cocktail hour (delicious shrimp cocktail "shooters" in little individual glasses with a tiny lemon wedge and dollop of cocktail sauce), we were treated to a buffet dinner, with several different entree and side choices. The prime rib and 5 cheese macaroni were so good!
There is a golf hole right behind the clubhouse, and it's a bit distracting to watch a couple exchanging their vows as a group putts in the background. Other than that, I'm uncertain how the bride found this location, but I would recommend it as a beautiful venue for a wedding.
