Lakeside is a great club to belong to; good food, good drinks and great people!
I had my wedding reception here and it was perfect, they were able to do everything I wanted and more, it was awesome!
I grew up here. Swimming, tennis, 9-hole golf course, clubhouse, snack area and baby pool. It's the quality that you would expect of a tiny country club plopped down in a highly-populated mixed residential and run-down commercial area. There was never a waiting list for membership, and the fees were reasonable. Dining room had excellent salads that came in huge glass bowls - like party punch bowls bigger than your head! The people were middle-class families... Some of the kids were trouble makers and ran down the quality of many amenities there, and yet the club never did anything about it. Swim team was awful - the worst in the area, and the practices were a joke in their tiny pool. They have a ton of golf leagues, though. The course itself is nothing to rave about - short, predictable holes. Some trees, but not many, which is surprising for the area. One lake in the center of the course. Always overrun with geese. One hole in particular is always 100% covered with goose shit. Basically, it's a good place for families with young children who want to have active outings together. Not much to offer older folks or college students as the golf course would then be the main attraction and it's certainly not worth the fees, alone.
