Played the Woods Course and it was awesome! Perfect day and the course was in outstanding condition. The course was flat out beautiful. Played in a scramble from the white tees, but would love to tackle it from the tips! Definitely worth the trip to play! People were great, course outstanding ....5 Stars across the board!
The best. I'm so happy that the LPGA have decided to come back to Williamsburg.
What is great about Kingsmill is that it isn't one of those super high end places to become a membef. Sure, you need some coin to play the course but there's nothing pretentious about the place like some other country clubs.
They have a gorgeous clubhouse, three great golf courses (River, Woods and Plantation), an immaculate putting green and many beautiful views along the James River. I've had the chance to play all three courses and for obvious reasons the mecca is the River Course, where the professionals play when in town. Care to see how you stack against the pros? Try and break par there from any set of the tees. It's nice that there are houses on the golf course but not so close that a hacker like me feels like I'm always in someone's backyard.
If you're really into the circuit there are volunteer opportunities with the LPGA stop each year. You'll get to see the course in its best shape, watch some really great golf and if you work enough shifts, you'll get a voucher for a free round of golf.
On the 12th hole of the River course you can hear the action at Busch Gardens. A distraction by golf standards but a nice noise to mix things up!
First class golf club with a great practice facility. Two of the courses are surrounded by high end homes, while the Woods Course sits back in an area that is completely secluded from any homes. Food was excellent and it has a great bar located next to the pro shop. This is one of, if not the best golf course in Williamsburg
