I had the pleasure of enjoying the spa at Glenwild last week and after a lovely pedicure and 90 minute massage, I was like butt-ah! This little spa is immaculate and they have everything you could want in a spa. There are spacious locker rooms, and they even labeled my locker with my name, even though I was just a guest for the day. The lounge area has a good selection of teas, magazines, and little nibbles like cookies, apples, and trail mix. Their showers and powder room are well stocked with all the necessities, and they have a great little boutique offering cosmetics, clothing, and other goodies at competitive prices.
Of course, the real reason to go is the great service! I was pampered from the second I stepped food into the spa. It's been a while since my last pedicure, and I was almost embarrassed to show my feet there, but I left feeling like a foot model! My massage therapist was also very attentive and worked out all my kinks with the perfect amount of pressure.
While the ladies were enjoying the spa, the men were out playing golf on the idyllic course. I'm told it was challenging but not too challenging to be frustrating. Although it was a Saturday morning, there was only one other group on the course, so they were able to take the time and enjoy the game at a leisurely pace.
Afterwards, we all met up for lunch al fresco and the food was almost as lovely as the views. I started with the meatball stew and found it to be way too salty, but my husband (who dumps salt on everything) really enjoyed it. I had the fish tacos for my entree and it was delicious and they sure didn't skimp on the fish! My husband had the chicken alfredo, which came with fresh pasta that was perfectly al dente. The portions are huge, so we didn't have any room for ice cream, but next time I'll try to save some space.
All in all, this is a wonderful club and I highly recommend it!
