This will be an odd review to write. I am not a golfer.
But because two of the trade associations I belong to have held their annual golf outing here, and because I have been a CT resident since 1987, its fair to say that I have attended (conservatively speaking) 40-45 golf outings at Glastonbury Hills, the most recent of which was today.
I don't play golf, but I have always enjoyed myself at these events, visiting with the membership, driving a cart around the course taking photos for our newsletters, and of course partaking of the wonderful BBQ lunches and group dinners.
First of all, the staff here has always been extraordinarily cheerful, cooperative, efficient and personable. Everyone I have come into contact with has been great. The grounds are beautiful, as is the clubhouse dining room and the large banquet room where we were tonight. The entire front wall is made of glass, so you get a magnificent view of the course.
We had an excellent dinner tonight - a nice filet, skewered shrimps, roast potatoes and mixed vegetables. Our cocktail hour featured passed hors d'oeuvres and penne a la vodka.
In my view, GHCC has performed at a very high standard for decades.
Brother got married here over the weekend. Place was immaculate. Grounds are superb, catering service was excellent and staff was on point. No complaints here!
