A country club in name only, and a short course with not so interesting of layout.
So the tour of Houston's golf course continues, and this week we stop at the Fort Bend Country club, now opening to the public.
Well There is a long list of why it's no where near a Country Club, but here is my observations:
Not too expensive $50 on a weekend.
Greens redone and rolls true.
Has a restaurant and club house for even non-members to use.
Cool score card design(Offset folding, where you can see still the players names on front 9 when folded for the back 9.)
Friendly and super nice club members.
Municiple course like customers with no etiquette or golf skills.
Food from the new Swinging Door is more or less buffet quality.
Pasture like bumpy fairways.
Uneven T box areas.
Confusing navigation from hole to hole with cart path not always leading to the next T box.(No cart path at all on 1 T box).
Boring hole layouts. Mostly just straight.
Not really a course i'd go back to, but if you are near by it's almost bearable. Just dont expect a Country Club.
