It's my second day and I just love this place and been a member. I totally recommend it. Summer is almost here
I love being a member at Fairwood. My husband and I were looking for an affordable place where we could play golf, and they offered a great young executive program suitable for our budget and needs. The clubhouse is clean and has loads of amenities, the restaurant serves delicious food, the lounge staff are very friendly and professional, and the club itself really makes you feel like part of a family. The pool and gym are easy to access and reasonably sized to suit the needs of the neighborhood. The course itself is a fun challenge that uses its length well. You have to play an accurate game with a variety of shots in your bag, and it stands up to our wet Northwest climate better than most clubs in the area. Overall, the club is an excellent value. I encourage anyone to come out and take a look and play as a guest to see for yourself.
As a contractor I was asked to help design and build a large deck addition on their club house. After a lot of work on their behalf, they took my designs, gave them to another contractor to have the deck built without even acknowledging my efforts. Incredibly unprofessional...
My Husband and I held our wedding ceremony here outdoor inside their heated tent. YES, HEATED TENT! Although we'd wed in late May, it was quite chili in the late morning. Kelly was the gal that assisted us. She was very friendly, attentive, and super helpful. THE BEST PART OF OUR WEDDING WAS THE CEREMONY! I think my husband and I should celebrate our wedding anniversary here every year :)
We are members here and it's unfortunate a couple of bad experiences have trashed this place's reputation. This is a fine neighborhood country club - if you want perfection head up to Newcastle and bring your AMEX (maybe your VISA too). We joined primarily to use the pool, and it is the go to spot on a hot summer day. It is filled with the neighborhood kids, which can be good or bad. They have a very active junior swim league and seem to cater extensively to the 5 - 14 crowd. I'm not a golfer so I can't review the course, but it certainly does make the neighborhood look nice. In all, I probably would rate this place 4 stars, but the other reviewers seem to have had unusually bad experiences that do not seem to reflect the norm. If you live in or near Fairwood, check it out.
