I just played this course for the first time on a great Under Par deal on a hot day and read the last two reviews submitted. I was instantly compelled to submit a review and contradict these last two guys and their snobby reviews and who seemingly have golf silver spoons in their mouths and who need to remember what they paid and when. I've played PGA West and Desert Willow and quite a few others in the summer and yes the conditions are better at many other places but to say this is the worst in the area? What a bunch of malarkey. Listen snobs, go back to Riviera. Us regular guys want a great layout, great views, friendly staff, level tee boxes, greens that roll true but we know are summer greens so not perfect, decent fairways and good bunkers. This course is just fine and in fact really fun and lush in many areas. The bunkers were GREAT though one of my attempts to get out wasn't great. I more than got my money's worth and I know what many courses look like after 3 days of 120 degrees. This one looked good. And by the way, grass grows when you water it and there was new growth throughout. Play this course fellas. That's to the rest of you guys out there; to the last two reviewers, remember to have your butler wipe you. And to the members of this course, thanks for letting me enjoy your place with my son. We really liked it.

He would play this course again.

Played the Blacks (6716/71.8/129) in 3.5 hours as a 2some. The weather was sunny, the temp north of 115 with a little breeze.

Many of the tees had not been maintained in awhile. Decent coverage and reasonably level.

The fairways were decent to play from, they played better than they looked. Every single one had numerous areas that were burned and browned out due to the heat/lack of watering to a specific area. Same for the rough.

The sand traps were poor, not well maintained and inconsistent from trap to trap.

The greens were firm but still putted medium slow and were somewhat bumpy. Not many ball marks, they did hold irons well. Several greens had areas that had not been adequately watered recently and looked dead or dying.

During the summer they close up the place around 1 pm. The customer service was very good, complementary range balls on an all grass range is always nice. Nice even if dated facilities overall. The layout is fairly tight with a fair amount of water coming into play. A few really tough golf holes and a bunch of mediocre ones. Roughly 1/3 of the holes playing right beside the property line, bringing OB prominently into play. Under current playing conditions, not recommended at this time.

He would not play this course again.

The only good part of playing this course is now when someone asks what's the worst course in the Desert I've played the answer will be easy. I called the week before playing to ask what condition the course was in realizing that this time of year can be iffy. I was told that except for s couple of the tee boxes it was in good condition. Wrong! Dead tee boxes. Burned out fairways. Greens eaten up or super slow. Weeds growing all around. Got a deal for $37.50 and still felt ripped off. At least we were the only ones foolish enough to be playing this course so our misery only lasted 3 hours....

He would not play this course again.
