Excellent parkland course, tees/fairways in excellent shape for late November. Wide open fairways allowed no lost balls (does not happen too often in Ireland). Greens were a bit long/hairy but rolled true as long as you gave it what it needed. Staff was friendly/pleasant with not many golfers on the course walked the 18 in 3 hours on a Sunday afternoon

I played a twoball recently at Deer Park, it's only the second time I've played this course. As an new but improving golfer, having taken the game up a few years ago it was a really enjoyable round. Unless you've some wild shots, It is a forgiving course, but not a walkover with it's use of the topography. On the 1st and 17th holes you're driving down the hill of Howth, so a good drive landing on the fairway will run a mile in summer conditions. There are no water hazards, the fairways are quite generous, and unless you're really off line, you'll be fine. Even though when I visited at the start of autumn , when the leaves were starting to fall, it wasn't an issue. The condition of the entire course was really good. The par 3's are not monsters, usually reached with an iron, rather than a wood or driver. There's a lot of memorable holes, each different from the rest and the scenery is unmatched when you're on the higher holes. well worth a first, or return visit !

As courses go, you will not find a better course to play with spectacular views of Dublin bay and city not to mention the historic castle as well.
The course while long on certain holes represents challenges for low handicappers but also somewhat fair for high handicappers as well.
Overall an enjoyable golf experience and one I'll try again in the near future.

While Deer Park is not going to be on the cover of many golfing magazines as it is mostly an up and down type of course which can get a bit boring, it certainly is value for money.
And as it is only a few miles from my home, it is ideal and on a clear day the views of Dublin Bay are stunning.
