Dallas Golf Links

It was fun the first couple times I played. Don't get me wrong, the course was in good shape, except they just punched the greens. It's a 9-hole executive course, but you can play to loop the 9 into one 18. They have student and senior rates which are nice. The pro shop is mediocre at best, and the range/short game areas are pretty basic. Only turf mats, no grass tees on the range. Only a small putting green with a couple of 15 footers at most.

The last time I played, one of the guys in the pro shop chastised me for wanting to play 9 around 6:15, which isn't late by any means in the spring/summer. I was playing with my girlfriend going through the round, and let her take some swings just for fun. I was confronted on the 8th green and harassed about "Theft of Services" for paying for one ball, and letting her take a handful of swings. We were the only two out there, so we weren't in any hurry or holding anybody up.

I just live down here to go to school, but for the experience and the service they provide, you're better suited to drive the extra mile to go play another course. I was pretty set on playing here throughout the school year but I'll pay the extra couple bucks to play the other courses in the area.

If you're in the Salem area, seriously take the deal on golfnow for Salem Golf Club. Only $5 more, you get to play some par 5s and be treated like you're wanted. If you're in the Dallas area, take the drive to Independence to play Oak Knoll. Not an overwhelmingly great course but it's fun and they operate it like human beings and treat you with respect.

If you are tired of not getting a tee time and spending a lot of money to play a round of golf, then come to Dallas Golf Links.

Dallas Links is a public course outside the city of Dallas. It's an 18 whole course with a driving range. When on the nicest weekend you can still get a tee time. Dallas links is a hide gem of Dallas. Most people go to the other course around the area so Dallas links isn't as busy. The cost of a round of golf is reasonably fair and they also have golf cart if you need one. They don't have a fancy pro shop or restaurant. This is a golf course not a club. Gets some friends, beers and have a good time!

There are a few things you need to know. The grass isn't all green all year and the driving range is very basic. During the summer the grass goes brown but is still playable.
