Went to a wedding there tonight. You would think that if someone is paying all kinds of money for a wedding, the least they could do was wash the windows. One of the waiters serving the fried ravioli at the cocktail hour looked and acted like we were all inconveniencing him. Wouldn't even wait for you to get sauce. The bartender spilt a drink on our uncle. The food was so slow to come out. My daughter's kids mall was child when it came out. The bride and groom did the cake cutting way before we even finished our dinner because we got our plates almost a half hour after the others. Everyone else was done eating except all the tables in the back. I strongly suggest the wait staff have a table or something to bring out more than 2 plates at a time. The table in front of us had to tell the waiter to bring us coffee because they never even bothered to ask us. Very poor service in my opinion based on a place I thought had a great reputation.
My wedding day was perfect, and I attribute a huge portion of that to Tracy Hill at Crystal Lake. Tracy is the on-site wedding coordinator, and her guidance and support was invaluable as my husband and I planned our day. She was incredibly responsive, and I never had to wait long for an answer to whatever question awoke me in the night. Best of all, she always put my concerns at ease and made the process so stress-free. We honestly had a lot of fun planning our wedding, and it's because our experience at the venue set the tone for the entire process. Tracy gave us wonderful advice and when our wedding day arrived, it was so nice to know that we had nothing to worry about. Whatever hiccup or issue were to come up, we were confident that she would handle it quickly and gracefully. The only problem we had that day was that we needed to add a table after two guests unexpectedly showed up. Tracy, as always, was calm and collected when she gently brought it to our attention, and quickly had a new table set up without any disruption to the other guests. Most people didn't even notice it happen!
The venue is truly a hidden gem, and an absolutely beautiful location for an event. I had never been to a wedding there before, but I am so glad we found it. The facility and grounds are lovely, especially the ceremony site up the road. Between the trees and the waterfront view, it made for a perfect photo backdrop. At the clubhouse, you get all of the benefits of a country club venue - on-site catering, good service, one-stop shopping, etc. - without the generic country club feeling. The wood-beam ceiling and string lights really set the ballroom apart from other venues, and the deck is a great spot for guests to cool off and have a drink with a view of the lake. I barely ate (common bride problem, I think), but everyone commented on how great the food was.
I would definitely recommend Crystal Lake to anyone!
We chose Crystal Lake for our wedding venue because I loved the idea of getting married on the lake and then heading over to the reception hall via a boat ride. I also fell in love with it because the reception hall overlooked the lake. The views are magnificant. There was a little hiccup during our food tasting event. We were required to make reservations and when we arrived that night, there was a seating arrangement in place and someone else had decided to take extra people without giving Crystal Lake any notice and they basically took the seats that were reserved for us. In my opinion there were way too many people for a food tasting event. They may want to consider having it 4 times a year instead of two. Needless to say, I left there that night wondering if maybe I should reconsider having my wedding reception at a different venue due to the unproffessional manner in which the situation was handled.
But Chelsea Bliss was awesome and she was very accommodating and everything ended up working out. If not for her, I would have definitely gone elsewhere.
Due to Chelsea's personality and her demeanor, we chose to specically work with her only. She made our wedding day in one word AMAZING. The grounds where the ceremony was held are very well maintained and so peaceful. She made our day run so smoothly. She was extremely helpful in every step of the planning process and the day of the wedding. She exceeded our expectations in every sense of the word. She is an outstanding person. The room was beautifully decorated. Everything was placed exactly where we requested things to be. Their food was delicious and our wedding guests kept raving about the big variety of appetizers. They were willing to accommodate any food allergy for our wedding guests. We decided to have our rehearsal dinner there as well to make it easier on the guests from out of town and Chelsea made up menus using the the same beach themed decor as our wedding. We can't thank her enough for all that she did to make our wedding day so very special.
We got married here in October 2009. The entire experience was outstanding, primarily because of the wedding coordinator Tracy. She was with us every step of the way, and because of her finesse the day went off without a hitch. Not only are the grounds gorgeous and the foods delicious, but the VALUE is incredible. I could have held the exact same wedding at a better known venue and easily spent $20k more.
We picked Crystal Lake to hold our wedding this past June. I cannot say enough positive things about this venue. Tracy, the wedding coordinator, is one of the most dedicated and professional people I have met. From the first viewing of the grounds to the final minutes of our big day, she was by our side every step of the way. She helped the day go off with out a hitch, and reassured me I was doing great during the whole planning process.
We saw Crystal Lake for the first time early last September. The minute we caught view of the beautiful vistas and immaculate grounds, we knew we didn't have to see any other venues. That winter, Tracy hosted an evening for all the upcoming brides and grooms. The evening showcased different cocktail appetizers, tons of different options off their extensive menu, different place setting and decorative options, and other vendors they recommended. It was exciting to see what the room might look like on our big day. Tracy then met with us 3 more times over the next few months, each time helping to guide us in what we needed to accomplish before the next meeting. The week of the wedding we had one final meeting in which we dropped off all of our decorations to be set up by her wonderful staff the day of the wedding. She hosted a rehearsal with all of our family and bridal party so that things would run smoothly the following day.
The day of our wedding, so coordinated all of the deliveries from the florist, cake, etc. She even made sure that the flowers for the grandparents and guys were given out. When I arrived that the venue, she made sure that the guys and any other guests that might have gotten there early were tucked away so they didn't see us going up to the bridal suite. While in the bridal suite, she made sure that we had anything we needed and that everything was running on time. She even let us take a peek at the main room all set up before we headed to the ceremony. The room looked spectacular, even better than I had imagined it over and over in my mind.
We chose to have our wedding at their beautiful outdoor gazebo overlooking the lake. The weather was perfect and the pictures came out beautiful, thanks to the natural beauty of the venue.
The rest of the night ran like clock work, and I didn't have to worry about one thing except to have the night of my life. Our guests raved about the venue and the sunset over the lake was the perfect setting for a wonderful night. I cannot thank Tracy and her staff enough for making my wedding go off without a hitch. I will hold onto those memories for the years to come and plan to visit again next year for our 1 year anniversary!
