The Concession Golf Club is magnificent. Nestled in the outlying wilds of East Bradenton, this Jack Nicklaus y Tony Jacklin designed course is a tribute to the two major champions' moment in Ryder Cup play called simply "The Concession".
The golf course is immaculate in its maintenance and spectacular in design. The 18-hole layout winds through palmettos, black oak and wild palms and has plenty of water hazards in the form of ponds, retention pools and small lakes to contest even the most daring shots. No homes on the course. You'll be playing golf in a surreal and serene setting,.... if you can get on this private gem.
The clubhouse is at least 80 yards wide tip-to-tip and features a modest but high-end pro-shop. It shines in food service and members' services. The club has a culinary membership along with its golf membership. Food there is almost 90% gluten free and organic. I even saw their small herb growing stations in outdoor areas behind the kitchens... talk about fresh? The Concession Club is nothing if not original and fresh top to bottom.
The Concession Cup was recently held there which was a USA vs GB&I team event representing amateur golf. It was all first-class from start to finish.
Should you ever get an invitation to play, dine or just meet someone at the Concession Golf Club - do it! Wow is all you can put down as a label.
