Colonial Golf Course

  92 Reviews

Colonial is my go-to for a fun and budget-friendly round on a solid course. I played here in July and am about to play again today. During the summer, the greens were very hit-or-miss, with some being in excellent condition (aside from people NOT REPAIRING BALL MARKS) while others were basically unplayable due to excessive brown, dead areas.

Overall, this is a great course for the money. Not usually overcrowded on the weekdays, great rates, and they really do try to make it a great experience. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I would recommend it, but count on giving yourself a couple of strokes on some of these greens!

He would play this course again.

Being the first time on this course, the layout was good. No real doglegs anywhere. Every hole is fairly straight. Sand traps and water hazards are placed well. My only gripes are the fact that the greens were in very bad shape. Some were perfect, but most were bare, with black patches all over them that looks like a bomb went off. I am guessing it is the fertilizer they are using on them to promote regrowth, but most of the greens smelled awful. Like sewage. Aside from that, there is no markings for where to go without constantly having to look at the scorecard map. Tee boxes aren't marked at all with any indicators. Overall, I will most likely return to this course as I did enjoy my time on it.
