The driving range is green and nice. I didn't play any holes, but from a distance I could see that the first hole looked to be in good condition. Staff is nice. I will be coming back.
Played here for the first time the other day. It was ok.
I would not pay to become a member here. If you are really into playing golf, there are other local courses that are in better shape.
Overall, it was a good experience.
I think it was pricey.
We had lunch after and the food and service were solid.
I think Turkey Creek is a nicer option.
Frankly, if you're not a member, don't go unless you like being treated like a second class citizen. I played a tournament there and they punched the greens a week and one half before our tournament. The greens were horrid. They were inconsistent and did not track true. Really rude way to treat a fairly large number of golfers who paid top dollar to play the course.
Also, I went to the course the day before my tournament and got there at 3:25 p.m. to play a practice round. When I tried to check in, I was told in no uncertain terms that public play cut off at 3 p.m. and it was members only at that time (which I was unaware of). I asked the guy at the desk to please cut me some slack since I was only 25 minutes over, I had driven from downtown Sacramento, and the course was not crowded in the least (it was 100+ degrees when I was checking in) and I had a tournament the next day and really wanted to learn the course. The response was completely uncaring and basically "don't let the door hit you on the way out."
There are large number of good courses in the Sacramento area that like your business and don't treat you like sh-t. I suggest you play somewhere other than here if you want enjoy your round.
Catta Verdera Country Club is VERY beautiful place. Staff and coordinator was extremely friendly. I photographed afternoon wedding in May 2011 and absolutely loved location and venue and staff!
I recently played this course as a guest. It's a beautiful course, and they keep it in good condition.
That said, the staff and service was absolutely horrible. From the moment I checked in, when they found out I wasn't a member every staff member I came in contact with seemed to hate their job, and the idea that I was troubling them with my presence. Except the bartender at the end of the day - who seemed embarrassed to inform me that the only place to get a cold drink was off limits to non-members. So he had to ask me and my friends to leave. (he apologized and said there were board members watching, so he had no choice but to ask us to take it outside)
I treated 3 of my buddies to this round and felt bad for my guests who were treated so poorly. There's no reason for a private club to treat non-members like second class citizens. You never know who your next member will be.
Needless to say, I will not be returning to this course and would never consider joining. If you love golf, there are so many great options in the greater Sacramento area...
Booo - I use to love playing Twelve Bridges...
