This review is for the clubhouse, specifically for Friday night karaoke hosted by Jerry Surprise. Appearing biweekly, Jerry packs the house with singers and dancers, eager to strut their stuff at the microphone or on the dance floor.
Based on my experience, the friendly folks that reside in Brunswick Forest are out to have a good time. Arriving just after 7:00 PM, all tables were fully booked and the bar was hopping with energy. Drinks flowed, wait staff hurried from table to table, and the songs kept coming. Most people know each other, but even if you're new to the scene, you'll be welcomed.
The clubhouse is situated way in the back of the neighborhood, and you might have some trouble finding it, but keep your eyes peeled and eventually you'll get there. Cell phone service is limited, so you may have to step outside to make a call or send a text.
Bring a friend - or two - and get ready some great Friday night fun.
Overpriced golf course! They would not acknowledge our coupon. Course is eh for the price! Avoid it!
Cape Fear National is located in Brunswick Forest in Leland and is a pretty new course to the Wilmington area. It is open to the public (for now) and is different from any other course I have played in Wilmington. The facilities are excellent and this course is full service from the time you pull up. They include free range balls before every round. They have coolers with bottled water for you on every cart (at least in the summer) as well as fresh towels. The course is BEAUTIFUL and the vegetation is not typical of the area. This course has numerous waste bunkers that double as cart paths and most rough areas are foot tall hollows that you won't easily be hitting out of so keep it on the fairway. Truly worth the experience and I can't wait to get back out to play it again. Peak season is $60 for locals and $80 for non. The bar and grill is also great with cheap beers on draft and REALLY GOOD food! A must play course for the area for sure and worth the green fees.
