I'm rating the establishment as a venue for a wedding, I have no other experience here.
What a lovely venue for a wedding! We were here for a wedding in September. They have a charming outdoor area for a cocktail reception overlooking the golf course. And of course if you time it properly, your guests get to enjoy the view of the sunset. The room we were in was for ~250 people. The facilities are beautiful. Very clean and neat. The ladies room has a bride's room for the bride and her party to enjoy separate from the guests which is a neat touch. The service was very good and the food was of typical quality. The dancefloor is a good size and there is a huge bar right outside the dancing hall.
Beautiful grounds, lovely clubhouse. Wish I had gotten to play the course but was sadly only there for a wine function. Would love to go back and play with our friends who are members. Beautiful facility all around.
My experience at Butterfield CC has been pretty much the opposite of the poster "Tanya" below. As a newer member I have found the facilities to be first class and the members and staff to be warm and welcoming to all, especially guests. The course is challenging and memorable. If you ever get a chance to play it you won't forget it.
There are plenty of clubs that could be described as snobby or eliteist. I have not found that to be true at Butterfield.
My friend was a member, but my parents could never join because they weren't white, they didn't have corporate sponsorships, rich enough friends, or something. I wasn't all that impressed with their pool for charging sky high membership fees. Their tennis program was a joke compared to the B&Ts. And though I hear golfers tip the caddies well, that's the only one good thing I can think about this snobby country club. It's a gathering place of Stepford wives.
