This course offers a challenging but fair design. If you are not the straightest hitter bring plenty of balls. We played on a day that rained during the front 9 but we still enjoyed it for the most part. The greens are maintained, the tee boxes are ok but could use some attention. My biggest issue is the lack of concern for crabgrass in the rough, around the greens and in numerous places on the fairway. Too often I found myself chipping or hitting into the green in a patch of crabgrass. There really is no excuse for the extent of the crabgrass on the course other than lack of concern for the paying golfers.
The price was $55 with carts on a weekend - not cheap but not outrageous. This is a course that has the potential to be a 4 star spot but now is more like 2.5-3.
I liked this course a lot. It takes you right out into nature; you're in the woods most of the time. There's a pretty good variety of challenges from hole-to-hole and I thought the course maintenance and drainage was certainly above average. They run some pretty nice end-of-season specials for those of us who like to golf deep into the fall.
Greens were in good condition, but they're inconsistent with yardage markers. Very frustrating. $55 for 18 holes w/ cart is a good deal for the area!
The course is in horrible condition. It is as if not a single golfer her ever fixed their ball mark on the greens. It is a relatively short course (only 5800 from the blues) with a par of 69. The back nine is better than the front. The front 9 has four par 3s, again, with horrible greens. It is cheap so if you are looking just to get out, I guess you could go, but there are much better courses in the area.
Three stars, plus a half for value. It's not the most amazing course in the world, but nice enough and fairly challenging (a few Par 5s and a handful of long Par 4s). Last few times I've gone the green on the 5th hole has been absolutely HORRIBLE, making it impossible to putt, but otherwise I can't complain. On the other hand, twilight golf is $10 after 6:00 - you just can't beat that! The golf school, Barrie Bruce, is absolutely AMAZING as well.
